Every culture and subculture that traditionally performed body modification, scarification and tattooing had reasons why. And as a result of those reasons, most tattoos signified something.
Among the Maori, only warriors got tattooed.
Among the Japanese, it was mainly the criminal underworld who got tatted up.
In Africa, a few communities practised tattooing. Ibos, for instance, practised it but it was fringe. Ethiopians still practise tattooing to this day.
In more recent times, tattoos have moved from being a thing frowned upon because criminals would use them to mark rank and crimes.
These days accountants and doctors have tattoos because they have become a form of self-expression. This entire introduction was so I can talk about DJ Creme’s tattoos.
The superstar DJ recently took to his social media to show off his ink and I genuinely think it is dope. Check out his tattoos below:
Creme has a clock and an author of time tattoo on his upper arm.
His favourite Bible verse is also tattooed on his arm, Philippians 4:13
This is a faith-based tattoo of Christ on the cross on his right arm.
He got his son’s footprints tattooed to his right forearm.
All in all, he has over 30 tattoos.
