- Chelsea have been crowned Europa League champions after demolishing Arsenal 4-1
- Hazard netted a brace to inspire the Blues to victory
- Alex Iwobi scored Arsenal's consolation
Eden Hazard's masterclass on Wednesday night, May 29, saw Chelsea demolish London rivals, Arsenal, 4-1 in Baku, Azerbaijan, to lift the Europa League title.
Hazard fired the Blues to victory with a spectacular brace in what appeared to be his last match in a Chelsea shirt ahead of a potential move to Real Madrid in the summer.
The first half of the clash was considerably low-key, with neither side finding the back of the net despite having a couple of goalscoring chances.
However, Olivier Giroud's powerful header in the 49th minute opened floodgates for four more goals, with Alex Iwobi scoring Arsenal's solitary goal that turned out to mere a consolation.
Pedro Rodriguez doubled Giroud's lead in the 60th minute, with the Spaniard capitalising on Hazard's fine pass.
Hazard went on to get his name on the scoreboard five minutes later, slotting home from the penalty spot after Giroud was brought down by Maitland-Niles in the dangerous area.
Iwobi however pulled one back for the Gunners in the 69th minute, but Hazard's second four minutes later put the match beyond Unai Emery's men.
Chelsea eventually managed to hold on to claim a comfortable 4-1 victory over their London rivals to win the 2019 Europa League title and Maurizio Sarri's first in his managerial career.
Meanwhile, following the defeat, Arsenal will now have to contend with Europa League football next season for the third consecutive season.
