A supply chain assistant implicated in the NYS I scandal has been fined Sh4 million, failure to which he will serve four years in jail.
Selesio Karanja, who is a church elder, was charged alongside former PS Peter Mangiti and 22 others.
On Thursday, Milimani Anti-Corruption Court chief magistrate Lawrence Mugambi found Karanja guilty of fraudulent procurement practice involving a Sh47.6 million tender.
The magistrate further barred Karanja from holding any public office.
All the accused persons, save for Karanja, were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
