Tuesday November 27, 2018 - Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho, was shocked by the ongoing beautification programme by his Nairobi counterpart, Mike Mbuvi Sonko. Speaking yesterday, Joho lauded the initiative when he was in Nairobi City to attend the global conference on Sustainable Blue Economy at KICC. He admitted that he was really impressed with the beautification exercise done by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko. “We can work and make our two cities great.” “I’m impressed with the ongoing beautification in your city,” Joho told Sonko, when he paid the Governor a courtesy call at City Hall yesterday. To prove his point, Joho promised to initiate the same exercise in Mombasa and to establish inter-County relations between Mombasa and Nairobi for the benefit of residents of the two cities. On his part, Sonko pledged to work closely with his Mombasa counterpart to ensure the two cities become the best to invest, live and work in. “My administration is ready to work closely with your County Government on matters relating to the environment and the blue economy,” remarked Sonko.
