DAILY POST: SHOCK on drivers as MATIANGI makes impromptu inspection of matatus at the busy Nkr-Nrb highway - You won’t believe what he saw (VIDEO) News, Videos 05:20 Thursday November 29, 2018 - Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang'i, joined his officers on Thursday along the busy Nakuru-Nairobi Highway in the ongoing matatu crackdown.
Matiang'i physically checked public service vehicles ferrying passengers to and from Nairobi at the Naivasha and Gilgil traffic police checks, assuring citizens that the crackdown was meant to enhance safety on the roads. He told passengers at the checkpoints that the Government needed their cooperation so as to realize the full implementation of Michuki Rules. According to Matiang’i, the move was to ensure no lives are lost on the roads as has been the case in most festive seasons throughout the year. The CS also urged the passengers not to accept paying double fare that the matatu crews have started charging. Here is the video of Matiang’i inspecting matatus;-
