DP Ruto wants Akaranga next FKF President – Weekly Citizen

Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa is staring at a raw deal with all the indication that Deputy President William Ruto roots for Moses Akaranga as the next president.

Initially there were signs that the DP in a 2022 political calculation would support the incumbent’s re-election but tables have been turned with new reports that Ruto is willing to channel his resources towards Akaranga campaigns.

In a race that is quickly taking political shape, the immediate formed seat holder Sam Nyamweya as another force to reckon with and it’s said that opposition Chief Raila Odinga is backing his candidature in a fierce attempt to recapture the seat.

SportsPesa CEO Ronald Karauri could be angling as a spoiler and boasting of the financial prowess and popularity among football stakeholders courtesy of the popular betting firm.

But speaking in Kakamega Akaranga declared that he was the new broom that would sweep FKF clean and promised to transform the sport locally by making it more professional.
