Followers of Aisha Jumwa and supporters of George Kithi and William Mtengo participated in fist clashes at Msabaha grounds in Malindi prior of Kenya Kwanza flagbearer William Ruto’s arrival.
The drama began hours just before Kenya Kwanza Alliance officials gathered at the rally’s location.
On Wednesday morning, Ruto, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi, and a slew of Kenya Kwanza officials convened a county economic summit in Mombasa.
They were on their way to Kilifi when Jumwa’s followers and Kithi’s backers clashed.
Jumwa, who appeared irritated, was overheard telling Kithi to concentrate solely on manipulating his fans, like she does with hers.
This arises after people from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) criticized the Kilifi Governor of misleading the public by falsely claiming that the county was a Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) zone and that no other Kenya Kwanza party should be presenting contestants in the region.
Malindi MP and Kilifi county governor aspirant on the UDA ticket Aisha Jumwa, joined by Kilifi North MP Owen Baya, addressed journalists at the UDA offices in Kilifi town, urging Kingi to cease all PAA operations and rather than campaign for UDA hopefuls.
“Kenya Kwanza Coalition and UDA have been and will continue to support actively and promote all its candidates vying for various positions in Kilifi County, there will be no zoning in Kilifi County as agreed in Karen,” she said.
