Governor Wambora targets women in reshuffle – Weekly Citizen

Governor Martin Wambora’s recent changes in Embu county targeting women mostly has elisted a lot of uproar with claims it was purely based on witchhunt.

Talk is rife, chief officer for public service Jane Mugambi was demoted to the department of gender, children, culture and social services after falling out with a member of county first family. Damiano Muthee was moved to early childhood development.

Mary Munene now said to be most powerful lady in the county was moved to infrastructure and public works from the department of planning and economic affairs. The department of land, physical planning, housing and urban development is now under Michael Ngoroi.

Wambora

John Mukundi was moved from agriculture and cooperative development to replace Mugambi at strategic public service.

Ruth Ndirangu, Albert Gatuta, Newton Mbora and Easter Mbogo were moved in the following department respectively; finance and planning, water and irrigation, fisheries and county public service board. Ndirangu promotion was expected as shehad told her colleaques well in advance.

Another woman, Jemima Nyaga heads youth empowerment from culture and social services now under Lilian Njagi who left the public service department.

Muturi Wa Ireri and Fredrick Ndaire who head administration and devolution and energy and transport remained innthe positions.
