Thursday November 29, 2018-At least 14 State Corporations lost a whopping Sh14 billion of taxpayers’ money in the last financial year.
This comes even as there were earlier proposals to disband some of the parastatal and merge some; a move that would have saved us the 14 billion which was lost just like that. The lost funds are more than three times the allocations to the countrywide free maternity healthcare programme that is meant to reduce maternal deaths. Top on the list is the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) and Nzoia Sugar Company, which has been “sick” since its establishment 40 years ago.
