Thursday December 20, 2018-Director of Criminal
Investigations(DCI), George Kinoti, has expressed his frustrations with how the
Kenya’s Judiciary is handling the cases of corruption.

For the
last 3 months, Kinoti and his team has taken top state officers to court for
stealing billions of shillings.
The tops
officers includes CEOs from Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) ,National Youth Service (NYS),National
Cereals and Produce Board(NCPB) , Kenya Pipeline Company(KPC) and National Hospital
and Insurance Fund (NHIF).
In an
exclusive interview with one of the local dailies on Tuesday, Kinoti said courts have slowed the graft war by granting low bail, injunctions and being swayed by
technicalities.
“Going
easy on suspects emboldens them and makes prosecution difficult,” Kinoti said.
Besides
low bail and bond terms, Kinoti further complained that courts issue
unwarranted injunctions, delaying hearings and making room for witness
tampering.
“It’s
hurting. We’re the people who go to the field and collect facts to present to
the court. When we see the issues being fought on grounds of technicalities,
it’s very upsetting,” he noted.
