The oil company is embroiled in a bitter management crisis pitting the board and the management over irregularities.

On Tuesday, Sang announced plans to leave the company, with the KPC board chair John Ngumi calling for an urgent internal audit in the procurement process of the troubled oil firm.

Sang has been the KPC boss since April 2016 after holding position in an acting capacity for four months following the resignation of his predecessor Flora Akoth.
