Kevin Hart is putting his Oscar controversy behind him, as he signs on to star in and produce an adaptation of the Monopoly board game.

Hart will produce through his own HartBeat Productions company, with Tim Story set to direct, which will be Hart’s first project since his Oscars hosting controversy.

Lionsgate is teaming up with AllSpark Pictures, Hasbro’s film division, for this adaptation, according to Deadline.

No story details have been revealed at this time, and the project doesn’t have a writer or a production start date in place at this time.

There is also no indication yet as to who Hart will play in this movie, the latest in several attempts by Hasbro to launch a film version of the iconic board game.

There was previously a version in development centering on a young man residing on the modest Baltic Avenue who went on a quest to amass his fortune.

The first incarnation of a Monopoly movie dates back to 2008, when Universal teamed with Hasbro, with Ridley Scott attached to direct.

With no movement on the project, the rights reverted back to Hasbro in 2012, who then teamed with Emmet/Furla Films for a Monopoly movie, plus adaptations of Hasbro games Action Man and Hungry Hungry Hippos.

The last attempt to make a Monopoly movie was being written by Andrew Niccol (The Truman Show) in 2015.
