Meru senator Mithika Linturi and East African Legislature Assembly MP Apuri Mpuru are giving Governor Kiraitu Murunga sleepless nights.
According to sources, the duo has caught Kiraitu off guard.
Apuri claims he lost his parliamentary seat in 2017 after he backed Kiraitu against Peter Munya.

Munya who is now Trade CS, Aburi, Linturi and MP Maoka Maore, have teamed up to fight Kiraitu. Also in the camp is former women rep Alice Kajuju. The women representative Florence Mwangaza has also deserted Kiraitu.
To politically hurt Kiraitu on ground, they have targeted Kiraitu’s chief of staff.

That Kiraitu is feeling the heat was seen when he petitioned churches in the county not to allow Linturi or Apuri use pulpits to undermine him.
What caused Kiraitu to petition church leaders was an even at which Apuri told worshippers that he went to the mountain for prayers and God appeared to him and warned Kiraitu era as Meru governor is over.
According to the governor, politicians are desperate for crowds to an extent they are using churches to undermine him. Speaking at Kanyakine Catholic Church, the governor told religious leaders to honour religious institutions.
