DAILY POST: MUDAVADI/ WETANGULA are cowards and have abandoned LUHYA unity – KHALWALE says and insists RUTO is the next President 05:52
Wednesday December 19, 2018 - Former Kakamega Senator, Dr Boni Khalwale, has accused ANC and Ford Kenya party leaders, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula, of chickening out and abandoning the Luhya unity debate. In an interview with a local daily on Tuesday, Khalwale said the absence of the two during the just concluded President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour of Nyanza is an indication that the two do not support the unification of the Mulembe nation. “Their absence means the two have abandoned their role in leading the community,” Khalwale said. In March this year, Mudavadi and Wetangula asked Luhyas to unite against Raila should he declare his bid for the presidency in 2022. They observed that the ODM party leader has ditched the community by allowing Wetangula’s ouster as the Leader of Minority in the Senate. But Khalwale said the two NASA principals are only good in talking but they have not laid any strategy of uniting the community ahead of 2022 presidential elections. Khalwale is among many Luhya community leaders who are campaigning for Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022.
