The update came shortly after Kenyans expressed their dissatisfaction in the first list which was released by the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai on Wednesday, May 29.
In the initial list, the president, deputy president, First Lady, cabinet secretaries for defence, Interior and foreign affairs, and principal secretary for Interior were put in the first category of VIPs on roads.
The second category comprised of the chief of defence forces, service commanders of defence forces, Inspector General of National Police Service, Deputy Inspector General of National Police Service and Deputy Inspector General of Administration Police Service.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi, his Senate counterpart Ken Lusaka and Majority Leader of the National Assembly Aden Duale form the third category.
Retired presidents and retired prime minister were placed in fourth category while ambulances and fire brigade were put in fifth category.
However, all the 47 governors, former vice presidents Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moody Awori will continue to endure the suffering of common Kenyans on the roads after being left out in both lists of VIPs entitled to special clearance.
Mutyambai stated the directive followed public outcry on inconveniences caused to other motorists by VIP and government vehicles on roads and highways.
