Slain terrorist Ali Salim Gichune was described by neighbours as a silent man who kept to himself.

Salim lived at Guango Estate located between Ruaka and Banana with his bride, Violet Kemunto Omwoyo.

The two did not interact a lot with the neighbours, as a matter of fact, they described Kemunto as a reserved woman who always covered her face with a hijab most of the time.

They did not host their neighbours for dinners or casual visit either.

Salim, on the other hand, looked far from a cold-blooded killer, he always wore blue jeans and a denim cap that covered his clean-shaven head and had dyed his goatee orange.

They were added into the estate’s WhatApp group, neighbours said:

“Salim did not contribute much to any conversation,” adding that he did not put an image of himself on his WhatsApp profile.

The list of people slain terrorist, Ali Salim, was following on Facebook

On Monday, just a few hours to the DusitD2 attack, Gichunge and Kemunto put all their household items on sale for Sh100,000, announcing on the social networking site Facebook that they were planning to “move out of Nairobi this week”.

They used a pseudo-Facebook account going by the name Junior Red.

The items included assorted kitchen appliances, a 49-inch smart TV, several beds and mattresses, a seven-seater sofa set, carpets, shoes, a fridge and a microwave.

Part of the property for sale were Phat Farm loafers which cost Sh4,000 in a shop, a 49-inch smart TV, a seven-seater velvet sofa set, a rice cooker and Ramtons two-door fridge which they were disposing of for Sh30,000.
