The militant group claimed they hit Nairobi again in retaliation to US President Donald Trump’s decision to declare Jerusalem the capital city of Israel.

“The Mujahideen carried out this operation, codenamed ‘Jerusalem will never be Judaized’, in accordance with the guidelines of Sheikh Ayman Adh-Dhawahiri in targeting western and Zionist interests worldwide and in support of our Muslim families in Palestine,” their statement read.

Several suspects were arrested in connection with the attack.
