President Kenyatta leads nation at memorial service for late Moi - KBC

The retired president died on 4th February aged 95

President Uhuru Kenyatta is leading the nation in Tuesday’s memorial service for the late retired President Daniel Toroitich arap Moi.

Several heads of state and dignitaries from across the world are attending the memorial service being held at Nyayo stadium.

The government declared Tuesday a public holiday to allow Kenyans take part in the interdenominational funeral service to be led by the Africa Inland Church.

The retired president died on 4th February aged 95. He has been accorded full military honors and will receive a 19-gun salute.

Aerodrome Road, Uhuru Highway, Likoni Road, Bunyala Road, Valley Road and University Way at the State House Roundabout have been closed to facilitate movement.

The Inspector General of police urged motorists to honour the Highway code and seek alternative routes.
