Residents of Ukambani called upon to rally behind Kalonzo Musyoka

Leaders from Kitui County have called upon residents of Ukambani to rally behind Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka for his chance to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.

Speaking at the first ever Kitui annual cultural event at Nguni, Kitui Senator Enock Kiio Wambua urged the region to tow behind Kalonzo’s unity with the government to boost his chances of assenting to the high office.

Senator Wambua also warned that anyone thought to undermine Kalonzo’s role in the region will be treated as an enemy whose political ambitions ought to be crushed.

“As the Kamba community and Wiper party, we are behind Kalonzo who is our president 2022,’ emphasized the Senator who is doing his first term in office.

Mr. Wambua further elaborated what working with president means supporting his good deeds especially in achieving the big 4 agenda and opposing him where things go wrong, hence providing constructive opposition.

“Wiper is strong and will work with jubilee to attain the big four agenda and Kalonzo should be accorded all respect as we prepare him to for presidency come 2022, “added Mr. Wambua.

Mwingi Central MP Dr. Gideon Mulyungi on his side urged the region to support Kalonzo’s unity with the government and to capitalize on the fact that President Uhuru Kenyatta is doing his final term to get support from central Kenya.

“ Tungependa Kalonzo aendelee kuwamtu wa mkono wa Uhuru katika muhula hii, tungemuomba naye rais atuunge mkonokwenye uchanguzi ujao ili kalonzo awe rais, name mtu wake wa mkono (Meaning; we should Kalonzo to continue working with Uhuru in his final term and request the president to also support us in 2022 for our son to be ascent into power),” said Dr. Mulyungi

However, Mr. Mulyungi also sent a stern warning to those opposing the Wiper party leader working with Uhuru that they should look for where else to go, instead of spoiling what is good for the community.

On His part, the former VP Kalonzo Musyoka said that he fully supports the remarks by the two Kitui leaders and that he would continue supporting the president in his efforts to deliver on his promises and more so on his fight against corruption.

On 2022 politics, Mr Musyoka said it was still too early to start deliberating on the matter and that an appropriate time will come when the issue will be discussed extensively.
