DAILY POST: RUTO should not vie for the presidency in 2022, he will be embarrassed like RAILA ODINGA – see who has abandoned him at the 11th hour , 03:54 Wednesday December 26, 2018-Deputy President William Ruto‘s presidential bid in 2022 has suffered a major blow after one of his key campaigners abandoned him for Interior Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiangi.
Speaking during Christmas Celebrations in Nakuru town on Tuesday, Nakuru Town West MP, Samuel Arama, said Matiang’i is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.  “I am calling on Matiang’i to consider vying for Presidency in 2022 because he is more suitable to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta. As a Gusii community we must back Matiang’i for the country’s top seat due to his good performance record for the years he has served in government,” said the lawmaker.  Arama insisted he won’t regret backing Matiang’i for the top seat because the Gusii community has been supporting other presidential aspirants from other communities. “It is our time to have the support from other communities for Matiang’i to become the next president in 2022. Elected leaders from Gusii region should unite speak in one voice and push for Matiang’i to be President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor,” he said.
