DAILY POST: This is what DCI KINOTI has told RUTO and his cabal of thieves from Rift Valley – Things are getting hotter 01:29 Thursday December 20, 2018-Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti, has urged politicians from Rift Valley to stop politicising the ongoing fight against corruption.
For months, section of Rift Valley leaders led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen and his Nandi counterpart, Samson Cherargei, have been shouting that the ongoing purge is targeting a certain community. But in an inclusive interview with one of the local dailies on Tuesday, Kinoti said those promoting the narrative of selective prosecution should take their evidence to court in their defence submissions. “Why are they saying we are targeting people, some of whom we don’t know or have no issue with? Why can’t they give the defence information that they are targeted as a tribe and bring it as a formal argument? We are ready to counter it,” Kinoti said. The top detective said shouting is useless since his office uses facts when arresting someone and no amount of intimidation will stop him and his boys from arresting thieves of public money. “When we wake up every morning, we don’t know where we’re heading but are led by the facts we collect in the field. These facts are tested in court,” he said.
