Nobody is spared. Manu Chandaria, a founder director of Kaluworks Ltd is being pursued by banks over kshs 6 billion Non-Performing Loan ( NPL).

Kaluworks was opened in 1929 and has been in business for 80 years. In 1988, Kaluworks launched a big Aluminium Rolling Plant at Mariakani,Mombasa, which was officially opened by former President Moi who said "Mwafrika ni bure, bure, bure kabisa" alluding to lack of African industrialists in Kenya. I wondered, 'why don't you lead the way because you steal all the money?' Moi was an outstanding hypocrite.

Today, the Kenyan economy has been growing 'robustly' at 5%. However, over 5 million SMEs have closed shop due to irresponsible economic management under KANU proteges and Moi sidekicks Uhuru and Ruto.
They have no clue how to steer the economy ( who from KANU would ever know this art having been trained by Jomo and Moi only how to grab state resources? Mind you KANU people are all those politicians who refused to move to opposition benches after promulgation of section 2A of the old constitution. Jaramogi, Matiba, Kibaki, and all others moved out) This economy is in greater trouble than many appreciate.

If you cannot make money in manufacturing, what other sector now remains?

Everywhere you look, businesses are getting auctioned left and right.

People are now only dealing in short time, cash-based safe businesses.

Risk takers ( employers) are almost all at the cleaners, having been taken there by Banks.
Banks will also start falling under the crushing weight of NPLs. Nobody is safe, save for maybe exporters like coffee and tea farmers
