The renewed war on corruption targeting arrest of suspected perpetrators has kicked off on a delicate balancing act factoring toxic tribal sentiments likely to be triggered by the arrests.

Kiunjuri

Sources reveal that arrest plan which has been crafted into two phases is tactfully carried out to avoid political complications.

Intelligence reports had warned that a section of leaders may harvest political dividends out of the situation by branding the war as tribal.

Sources reveal, to avoid such development the DDP Noordin Haji was instructed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to allow those arrested an option of immediate bond.

Rotich and PS Thugge were granted sh15million bail or an option of depositing sh50million bond.

Further, unlike before where Uhuru instructed for the arrests not to be made on Fridays to avert a situation where suspects were forced to stay in police cell over the weekend.

Chelugui

Fears being, it will be politicized by politicians who are engaged on Weekends.

Phase two of the arrests will also be balanced and those targeted are Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa (Luhya), water CS Simon Chelugui (Kalenjin) and agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri (Kikuyu).
