Thursday, January 17, 2019 - Celebrated Kenyan gospel singer, Mercy Masika, would have been among those caught up in the deadly Dusit D2 Hotel terror attack had she not have been ‘inconvenienced’ by Comedian turned radio host, Jalang’o.
The ‘Wema’ hit-maker, was scheduled for a 3:30pm salon appointment at Dusit D2.
This is the exact time armed assailants stormed the posh hotel and started gunning down people.
So how did Jalang’o ‘rescue’ the songbird from the deadly attack?
Mercy was in a meeting early on that day and as she hurried hoping to make it to her salon appointment at Dusit, she found someone had double parked and blocked her car.
Jalang’o is the one who had blocked her car and it took 20 minutes to move his car and just as she was about to drive off to Dusit, terrorists stormed the hotel.
Read Jalang’o’s post below.
“So Mercy Masika and I are involved in an upcoming consumer promotion and so we were invited for a meeting at the client office... I was in another meeting so I get to client meeting after Mercy!
“Driving in, the client parking is full so I am forced to Double Park blocking other cars! I walk into the meeting and client has finished briefing Mercy and she is in a hurry for her saloon appointment since the next day is the launch date and she has to look the part!
“She hurriedly leaves only to find her car blocked so they call me move to my car but I give out my car key so there is a bit of delay! When she leaves not more than 20mins later news of the attack at Dusit where she was going for her appointment quickly spread! Waaaaa! When she shared the message I just thanked God!”
