Kithure Kindiki retires from active politics after missing UDA running mate post

Senator Kithure Kindiki takes a back seat at Kenya Kwanza. Promises to support DP William Ruto without any portfolio.

Senator Kithure Kindiki of Tharaka-Nithi, who failed his ambition to be Deputy President William Ruto's running mate, has declared his retirement from politics.

He voiced his love for the DP and Rigathi Gachagua at a press briefing Monday at the Tamarind Hotel in Karen.

"I had the pleasure of speaking with Mr Gachagua today morning. At the party, his resourcefulness paid off. 

"I wished him well and promised him and DP Ruto my complete and sincere devotion, "Professor Kindiki stated.

"Starting August 10, I've chosen to take a hiatus from political affairs. I've opted against seeking any kind of appointment "he continued.
