Stanchart Bank Kenya Closes Eight Branches

Standard Chartered Bank Kenya will from May 1, 2020, temporarily close eight branches for three months in efforts geared towards minimizing the spread of COVID19.

However, the bank assured its customers that there will be no interruption to their banking experience through online and mobile platforms.

The closed branches include;

  • Koinange brnach
  • Harambee Avenue Branch
  • Ruaraka/Garden city branch
  • T-Mall branch
  • Two Rivers Mall branch
  • Upperhill branch
  • JKIA branch
  • Maritime branch

During the release of the FY019 results, CEO Kariuki Ngari said that 85 per cent of the bank’s transactions happened outside the bank. In this case, the Standard Chartered mobile app offer about 70 services ranging from home/motor insurance, FX exchange transactions, and treasury bill and bonds trading.

In addition, Kariuki revealed that the mobile app accounts for 52 per cent of service requests.
