DAILY POST: UHURU shocks RUTO and his sycophants again as he supports creation of Prime Minister’s position- we don’t want a situation where winner takes all! 00:31 Sunday January 20, 2019-President Uhuru Kenyatta has indirectly supported the calls for a referendum to expand the Executive by creating positions of a Prime Minister and two of his deputies.
Speaking in Koru, Kisumu County on Saturday during the burial of former Youth Fund boss, Bruce Odhiambo, Uhuru stressed on the need for the nation to do away with its current winner-takes-all system. “Going forward, we don't want to have a situation where a section of Kenyans will feel left out after their candidates don’t make it to the top position," Uhuru said. The Head of State also noted that his union with opposition leader Raila Odinga through their March 9 truce seeks to cement inclusion of all Kenyans into the government. On his side, Raila who was also present reiterated on the need for politicians to quit politicking and await the right time. "It is time for the government to work and initiate development programmes that they promised Kenyans during the campaigns. This can only be realised in an environment free of politics and blackmail," Raila said.  Uhuru’s support of the referendum is a big blow for Deputy President William Ruto since he has severally said he will not support a referendum to expand the Executive.
