14 year old arrested in connection with murder of journalist

Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested a 14-year-old juvenile suspected to have been involved in the murder of 62-year-old radio journalist Mohammed Hassan Marjan.

Marjan who worked at Pamoja FM Radio was murdered as he walked home from work at 4am on Monday last week.

The Juvenile was positively identified after analysis of IC3 Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footages.

The DCI in a Twitter post said Juvenile who was in a group of four others, accosted the deceased who was heading to his house after duty at Pamoja Radio Station in Kibra.

They then violently robbed him and, in the process, stabbed him on the left side of the chest killing him instantly.

His body was discovered lying on the road at Makina near Kibera Law Courts in the wee hours of 4th May 2020.

Enraged members of the public subjected one suspect to mob injustice.

In the post, the DCI says the Detectives are still pursuing the other three suspects and a woman believed to have been harboring them. The juvenile will be arraigned in court.
