ODM leader Raila Odinga and his youngest son, Raila Junior, visited their in-laws in Kandara, Murang’a County, this morning.
They were in the company of Junior’s wife, Yvonne Wambui, and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
Junior and Wambui solemnised their union in 2011 after years of dating. They are blessed with two children, the second born having been born on the day his grandmother, Mama Ida was celebrating her birthday last year.
Wambui is the daughter of Gido and Susan Kibukosya.
The former Prime Minister and Gido, who is a former musician, were seen having a bright chat.
“When a man marries a girl from a family, he becomes a son. He is the son of Murang’a because he has married there. I’m a son of Murang’a and Baba (his father) is the muthoniwa (in-law),” Junior wrote in a tweet.
Raila then proceeded to Ihura Stadium in Murang’a town where he expected to hold a rally. The opposition leader is on a mission to court the Kikuyu community and Mt Kenya region at large. He is leveraging on his ‘Handshake’ with President Uhuru Kenyatta to triple his fortunes in the vote-rich bloc.
