Manchester United Interim manager, Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Anthony Martial wants to leave the English Premier League club.

Speaking ahead of today’s Premier League clash with Newcastle, Rangnick said he has held talks with the France international, who has informed him of his desire to find a new club.

The 26-year-old has started just two Premier League games this season and only four in all competitions.

“He explained to me that he’s been at Manchester United now for the last seven years and he feels it’s the right time for a change, to go somewhere else,” the German told his pre-match press conference.

“I think in a way it is understandable. I could follow his thoughts but on the other hand, it’s also important to see the situation of the club. We have Covid times, we have three competitions in which we have high ambitions and want to be as successful as we can be.

Despite his desire to leave Rangnick noted that the club has not received any offer yet.

“So far, as far as I know, there has been no offer from any other club and as long as this is the case he will stay.”

Martial has scored 56 goals in 174 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions since joining from Monaco in 2015.

He has been linked with a move to Newcastle, Arsenal, Juventus, Barcelona and Sevilla.
