Before the tongs of bells ring for Kimilili constituency contest, dirty political schemes and machinations are playing out in the jostle for power.
A fierce supremacy political contest is said to be on offing between incumbent legislator Didmus Barasa and the new entrant in the race Bryan Khaemba.
Last week after the former Kiambu magistrate made a public appearance in the constituency, goons raided his home in Kimilili and destroyed properties.
Khaemba who runs a law firm in Nairobi termed the violence as premature and unnecessary panic, pointing fingers of accusations to his political opponents.
“I’m aware that my brand has already attracted faceless opponents who have resorted to barbaric and criminal actions,” said Khaemba in his address to the media after reporting the matter at Kimilili Police Station.
“A few characters on the payroll of a certain element attempted to jump over the perimeter wall in my home in Kimilili armed to the teeth with all manner of weaponry,” said Khaemba.
Meanwhile, a former London School of Economics graduate and businessman Edward Kisaka has joined the race for Webuye East parliamentary seat.
The renowned businessman in Webuye says he was motivated by the myriad challenges facing the constituents. He said the Webuye East community, needs a leader who will mobilise and rally, his people to take personal responsibility.
