The world’s largest cleft organization Smile Train in partnership with the Kenya Society of Plastic and Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (KSPRAS) and University of Nairobi (UoN) will today (Tuesday) provide free cleft surgery to patients at the Coast General Hospital, Mombasa.
Cleft is a common birth difference that not only makes it difficult for the patient to eat, breath or speak, but because of the facial difference, the patient is stigmatized and isolated.
The outreach seeks to ensure many more patients receive free cleft care.
In attendance will be Education and Training Manager Patrick Mwai, Smile Train Prof. Stanley Khainga- Kenya Society of Plastic Constructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (KSPRAS)
