Drama unfolded today, September 8, at the home of Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko and husband Jackson Ole Suuji when they disagreed over a visit by Deputy President William Ruto.

DP Ruto and his brigade were scheduled to be hosted for a political event at the couple’s matrimonial home.

Trouble began when Suuji claimed that he had not been consulted before the meeting.

Speaking to the media at the Isinya OCPD’s office, he accused the DP of trespass.

He said it was immoral for DP Ruto to plan a visit to his home without asking for permission from him.

“What would he (Ruto) have felt if I trespassed at his Karen or Eldoret homes, where he lives with the family. I’m hurt and I don’t support what is happening at my farm. It is an illegal political activity,” an agitated Suuji said.

He asked the police to go to the home and arrest everyone, including the DP and MP Tobiko.

However, security officers declined to disrupt the meeting, arguing that there was no evidence that the event was illegal.
The meeting went on uninterrupted.

The lawmaker, who is a sister of Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko, announced that she had ditched President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

She said she would view for the Kajiado gubernatorial seat using the wheelbarrow party.

“I will be vying for the Kajiado gubernatorial seat via UDA. The current governor is a non-performer and should go home in 2022,” she said.

Responding to her husband’s protests, Tobiko said he was against her governorship ambition.

“I’m not a coward. Some family members were called to tell the media that they were not aware of the meeting,” she said.
