Friday January 18, 2019-Kirinyaga Governor, Ann Waiguru, has found herself in deep trouble with her Members of County Assembly.

This is after they threatened to impeach her over failure to disburse KSh 70 million that had been approved by the Assembly for bursary kitty. Speaking on the floor of the Assembly yesterday, the MCAs accused Waiguru of slashing the money for her selfish benefits. They said they will not accept anything lesser the KSh 70 million they had approved and vowed to impeach her if it comes to that.  "We endorsed the Sh70 million bursary (kitty) and we shall not accept any deductions.” “If the Governor refuses to honour our decision, we shall not hesitate to impeach her," said the Kangai Ward MCA John Gitari. The MCAs demanded the release the money in full failure to which they will initiate an impeachment motion against Waiguru. However, Waiguru defended herself over the move to cut the money  to a mere KSh 20 million, saying the balance has been set aside for orphans and children from poorest families in Kirinyaga.
