Havi: We Luyha People in UDA, Kenya Kwanza Want ‘Governor’ Wanjiru And Not Sakaja

Immediate former president of the Law Society of Kenya Nelson Havi has thrown his weight behind Bishop Margaret Wanjiru for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

Havi, flanked by a section of Nairobi aspirants from Western Kenya, urged the Luhya community members residing in the city to rally behind Wanjiru.

He claimed that the United Democratic Movement (UDA) and the Kenya Kwanza alliance prefer the cleric to Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, who is also gunning for the post under Amani National Congress (ANC) of Musalia Mudavadi.

“As the larger Western Kenya community that votes here in Nairobi, we have unanimously resolved to put our support behind Bishop Margaret Wanjiru for the candidature of the governor of Nairobi,” he said.

The Westlands parliamentary aspirant said the bishop would now be projected as UDA’s favourite candidate for the position in all rallies.

“We shall, henceforth, work together as we seek for the governor, senators, MPs, Woman Rep, MCAs, and for the presidency in tandem with our resolve here today,” he said.

The lawyer did not explain why he sold Sakaja down the river yet they come from the same community.

Wanjiru and Sakaja have been embroiled in a supremacy battle over who should fly the Kenya Kwanza ticket.

Recently, the two almost went into a near fight during a Kenya Kwanza rally in Nairobi.

Sakaja irked the former Starehe MP after he grabbed the microphone from her, claiming that people were getting bored with his speech.

In retaliation, Wanjiru confronted the senator and also tried to take the mic from him.

Murmurs have it that Deputy President William Ruto and Mudavadi have a secret pact that will see them endorse Sakaja at the right time.
