Chama Cha Mashinani Leader Isaac Rutto says President Uhuru Kenyatta is too young to retire in 2022. This was just hours after Jubilee and Chama Cha Mashinani signed a post poll cooperation agreement to work together towards 2022. The agreement was also signed by the Wiper Party, whose leader Kalonzo Musyoka was also prsent.
”President Uhuru is committed to the unity of the republic. We fully support this agenda as a party. Infact the president is too young to retire in 2022,” Rutto, who is also the first Bomet Governor said.
While speaking at the ruling party’s headquarters, Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe said the signing of an agreement between Wiper and CCM will pave way for a joint coalition with the major parties.
“Today we are signing a co-operation with two major political parties – Wiper and Chama Cha Mashinani. We are hoping that they will be part of Jubilee Party when we sign a coalition agreement,” said Murathe, who has repeatedly said Ruto will not be president in 2022.
