Friday January 18, 2019-The Kenya African National Union (KANU) will be seeking alliances ahead of the 2022 General Election.
This was revealed by KANU Secretary General, Nick Salat, who told Deputy President William Ruto to prepare to go back to Sugoi by 10 am come 2022.
Speaking in Kisumu County yesterday during the burial of Claudio Opondo, husband to Kezia Opondo, a Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Salat revealed that the party was preoccupied with strategies aimed at positioning Baringo Senator and Kanu Chairman, Gideon Moi, for the Presidency.
He urged the KANU officials to recruit more members to actualize Gideon Moi’s Presidential ambitions come 2022. "But even as we journey towards this goal, we are asking our loyal supporters and officials to recruit more people to join Kanu now," said Salat. He further told the officials to initiate alliances with parties that hold the same views as KANU's in their electoral turfs, stressing that KANU needed to reach out to other parties to form a joint Opposition front that would win the Presidency in 2022.
