Motorbike fund launched to aid ailing Nzoia striker Jeremiah Wanjala

– A motorbike fund has since been established to aid in catering for his daily needs

– With the aid of Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) and well-wishers, Wanjala has been undergoing chemotherapy

A motorbike fund has been launched to support ailing footballer Jeremiah Wanjala.

Wanjala, a Nzoia Sugar FC striker, was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer in April 2020 and has since been undergoing treatment.

Since the Kenya Premier League was unceremoniously abandoned and clubs began struggling financially, a funds initiative was set up to at least aid in providing basic needs to the ailing striker.

The fundraisers, who shared information on a Facebook page, plan to acquire a motorbike for Wanjala, with all the proceeds from the business going to his needs.

The average price of a motorbike in Kenya is KSh 80,000.

Meanwhile, he is undergoing chemotherapy following the intervention of the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) along with well-wishers.

Wanjala only joined Nzoia Sugar in January having had stints with AFC Leopards, Posta Rangers and Ushuru FC in the past.

Some of his best form was in 2017 when he played for Kakamega Homeboyz.

As far as his disease is concerned, TUKO.co.ke has learned he is responding well to treatment.

Lymphoma cancer begins in infection-fighting cells of the body, scientifically known as the lymphocytes.

Some of the most common symptoms are enlarged lymph nodes and extreme fatigue, with treatment ranging from chemotherapy to the rare stem-cell transplant.
