Sirisia MP John Waluke’s wife has appealed to Kenyans to help fundraise KSh 727 million to keep his troubled husband out of jail.
Speaking to Milele FM on Sunday, June 28, Roselyn Waluke urged well-wishers to channel their contributions to her phone number even as the family races to get an M-Pesa Paybill number.
“You are aware of our problem and I thank those who have stood with us during this challenging time and kindly continue praying for us.
“We are requesting for your financial assistance. Kindly channel your financial support to my number 0728732542 as we wait for an M-Pesa Paybill number,” said the MP’s wife.
The court heard that the two who were named as the directors of Erad Supplies and General Contracts Limited, had won the tender for supply 40,000 metric tonnes of maize to NCPB.
However, the board later on cancelled the award of tender for lack of funds leading to a legal tussle between it and the accused persons.
The MP and his business associate sued the produce board for the breach of contract.
In 2009, they presented a false invoice for the sum of KSh 115 million as evidence to support a claim for storage of the white maize incurred by Chelsea Freight, a South African firm.
The obtained KSh 13 million of public money from NCPB on grounds of having offered storage services through Chelsea Freight and another KSh 2.4 million.
