Nandi Senator Samson Cheragei says he’s been arrested.
The vocal politician made the claim on his Twitter page on Thursday.
He stopped short of explaining the possible reasons for his arrest.
Police are yet to confirm the arrest.
Cheragai is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto.
He recently secured clinched the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket to defend his seat in the August 2022 polls.
His last run-in with the law was when he was charged before court with incitement over reported remarks he made to the effect that all leaders who mistreated the DP will be ‘profiled’ and dealt with when the second in command assumes power.
The case is still active in court.
More to follow.
I have just been arrested and taken to Nairobi.
