How would you react if the future King of England gives you his precious time?

I am sure you would have a mish-mash of intense emotions, perhaps figuring out what to tell him.

Well, top Kenyan digital strategist Pauline Njoroge had an experience of a lifetime after having a brief chat Charles, Prince of Wales, the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II.

The blogger met Prince Charles during Commonwealth Day in the United Kingdom. She is in the European country as part of a delegation accompanying ODM leader Raila Odinga on his one-week trip.

Describing the moment, she conceded that she did not have words to tell him after the greetings.

“When he shook my hand, I did not know whether to curtsy or to say ‘You Royal Highness. I was tongue-tied and in a daze. Right there in front of me was the future king of England, North Ireland, and Commonwealth realms,’ she wrote.

Luckily, he broke the ice.

“He is personable so he made it easy. He asked me a question about Kenya, I responded and emphasised on the particular issue,” she recalled.

What stood out is that the royal had a long conversation with Pauline than the other people he greeted.

She was grateful to God for helping her rub shoulders with the mighty.

A few weeks ago, the blogger recounted how she almost gave up slightly ten years ago. With just a Form Four certificate, she was unable to secure a job and the only option was to work in a posho mill or become a house help.

However, she had a passion for communication and made frantic efforts to look for politicians.

Her breakthrough came after pitching her ideas to former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, who was running for President in 2013.

After working with Kenneth for a few months, The National Alliance (TNA) of President Uhuru Kenyatta hired her as the party’s communication manager.

After Uhuru won, she worked with different organisations in the communication department.

In the 2017 election, she blogged for the President, rallying Kenyans for his re-election.

Pauline is now working with Raila.
