ODM Leader, Raila Odinga

News that President Uhuru Kenyatta is plotting a coalition government with his Handshake partner Raila Odinga has dominated the mainstream media in the recent weeks.

On Sunday, K24 TV believed to be partly owned by President Uhuru, crafted an editorial revealing the finer details of a plan that could see the ODM leader made a Prime Minister and DP Wiliam Ruto shown the door.

According to the TV station, the major purpose of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is to foster an inclusive government that represent all Kenyans.

And as such, President Uhuru Kenyatta will have no other option other than expanding the constitution to include the creation of a new Prime Minister’s position that will see Raila incorporated in the government.

The editorial that was voiced by Punchline show host Anne Kiguta indicates that a plebiscite will be enacted to see constitutional changes are amended to incorporate the desired changes.

In their formulated hypothesis, K24 TV envisages a situation where Raila will be made the Prime Minister before the Christmas of 2020.

The TV believes that in the new changes, Raila will be more powerful than DP Ruto hence leading to a possible constitutional process of removing the DP out of office, thanks to a litany of corrupt accusations to his name.

“President Kenyatta remains number one and then Raila joins him to the government. What does this mean for the Deputy President’s privilege and constitutional position?

“It is for this reason that impeachment plan against the Deputy President which might have been shelved could possibly be revived.

“And if the DP appears to continue with the struggle with his boss, there is every likelihood that he will be formally locked out of government through the removal office proceedings and whereas due process and grounds of impeachment do matter.“With the litany of allegations that the Deputy President faces both grounds. And the process could be possibly be found and applied in copious amounts by the powers that be,” read Kiguta.
