Friday January 18, 2019-Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has advertised the position of the commission’s CEO which was formerly held by Ezra Chiloba.

In the advert, IEBC invited interested candidate to submit their papers by 5pm on January 31, 2019. Among the qualifications including at least a degree from a recognised university; 15 years' experience in electoral management, public administration, law, or political science; and proven leadership experience. “The commission secretary/ chief executive officer shall hold office for a term of five years but shall be eligible for reappointment for one further term of five years subject to satisfactory performance.” “The position has an attractive remuneration and benefits,” the post states. IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati fired Chiloba from the commission in October 2018 while on suspension over questionable procurement deals for the 2017 election materials.
