Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has been trending for the better part of today, April 12, after messing up during the signing of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance agreement.
The event took place at Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi where 12 parties agreed to support Deputy President William Ruto for the presidency.
When Waiguru was invited to speak, she almost spoilt the party barely 30 seconds into her speech.
“… Your Excellency the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, leader of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Azimio group alliance…”she said.
The delegates corrected and she quickly apologised.
“Sorry! Leader of Kenya Kwanza. I just confused because I was thinking what to you say about them (Azimio),” she said.
As usual, Kenyans flooded social media pages, with Azimio followers saying her heart supports President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, while the body is in Kenya Kwanza.
Waiguru was formerly a staunch supporter of Uhuru and Raila – the ‘Handshake’ duo – before she crossed to UDA on October 28 last year.
This evening, the county boss has shared a music video to affirm her support for the DP.
She dedicated a Mugithi song dubbed, “Wendo Waku Ndituragia (I no longer love you)” to President Kenyatta.
In the song, Mugithi star Joyce Wamama trolls her ex-lover and describes him as toxic and praises her new partner.
She also vows that she would never go back to her former lover come what may.
In this case, the Head of State is the ex-lover while the new partner is the Deputy President.
