Yatta Knut man’s masks put him in trouble – Weekly Citizen

Yatta Knut branch executive secretary Kasimba Ngui found himself in trouble after he embarked on providing face masks to battle corona virus in Yatta constituency without due regard to social distancing. Kasimba had to flee Kithimani market after huge gatherings assembled to get the protective face only for police to swing into action to disperse the crowd that was becoming a health threat to themselves. Area security and health team much as it welcomed Kasimba’s gesture told him to observe the ministry guidelines.

They also told Kasimba not to be keeping the security team in the dark about his activities and warned against assembling people in contravention to the laid down guidelines. Kasimba is eyeing the Yatta constituency seat and his move was seen as insensitive given that he was also addressing the crowds as he drummed up support for his 2022 parliamentary bid. As a result, Kasimba is now accused of is using the oppoturnity to reactivate his political career by capitalising on the pandemic to endear himself to voters of Yatta. Kasimba donated the masks in Kisiiki market and Kithimani. Machakos county CEC of health Ancent Kituku cautioned that masks distributed should meet ministry standards. Locals however said that any mask is better than none and told others to bring more epsecially if they are better quality than Kasimba’s.
