– Zidane took to deny any rift between himself and Gareth Bale
– Bale was an unused substitute in Los Blancos’ last five La Liga matches
– The Welsh international was spotted playfully poking fun while at the bench during those games
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane recently took to clear the air on his relationship with Wales winger Gareth Bale amid reports the 31-year old could be on his way out of the Bernabeu.
Los Blancos are well on course for their first La Liga title in four seasons after establishing a healthy lead over arch rivals Barcelona.
On another instance, he was spotted looking through imaginary binoculars.
Zidane was asked about Bale’s antics during a presser where he vehemently denied any rift between himself and the player.
The Ballon d’or winner also accused media of trying to paint a non-existent beef between the two.
“My God, what a question, man! We think about tomorrow’s game, and Gareth the same. He is one of us. You try to put things between us but you won’t be able to,” an agitated Zidane said.
“Every day you ask the same. You can, you have the right to ask, but everyone here is united. We all think the same way, Gareth, James (Rodriguez), everyone here. We all want the same thing.” He went on.
Under Zidane this season, Bale has only managed 100 minutes of La Liga football.
All Spanish top flight teams will be in action on Thursday, July 16 in the second last round of fixtures of the season with Real Madrid playing Villareal.
A win on the night would be enough to secure a famous league title for Zidane.
