Drama ensued at the rural home of rugby legend Benjamin Ayimba in Siaya County after some family members allegedly hired security men to block certain people from attending his funeral.

Among those who had to fight to gain access at the burial were actress Nyaboke Moraa and her two sons.

Moraa is a baby mama to the late coach of the Kenya Sevens rugby team.

At the gate, the former Tahidi High TV show cast member and her children were told that they would not not be allowed in.

Speaking on behalf of Moraa, fellow actress Sandra Dacha said the boys went through trauma and harassment at the hands of the people who should have embraced them.

She claimed that one of Ayimba’s sisters had instigated the drama.

According to Dacha, she branded the kids bastards and chokoraa (street urchins).

However, the boys were later allowed to visit their dad’s grave.

“Benjie Otieno Junior kept saying, ‘I want to go see my dad’. Unfortunately, the aunt caused so much trouble and I don’t even have the courage to share,” she said.

At the time of his death, Ayimba and Moraa had separated.

In 2020, she accused him of not providing for his children.

Ayimba passed away after battling cerebral malaria for weeks at two different hospitals in Nairobi.
