Kariri Njama Warms Hearts After Paying Fees for Stranded Students

Kariri Njama, the former aspirant in last month’s Kiambaa Constituency by-election, has warmed the hearts of many social media users after he paid school fees for two stranded Form One students.

Njama, offered the help after the students’ story was aired on a local TV station last Friday, August 6.

“KamemeTV highlighted the story of two young sisters from Kiambaa, who had not reported to the school due to lack of fees among other basics required for admission,” wrote Njama, in part, on his Facebook wall.

The politician visited the girls’ mother, who works as a tout, at her home in Muchatha, Kiambaa Constituency, and offered to help through his foundation.

“It touched my heart and today I went to see the family and through #KaririNjamaFoundation I issued the school fees cheques to their mother,” wrote Njama.

The two girls were able to join Loreto Kiambu girls, and Senior Chief Koinange Girls High School respectively, on Tuesday, August 10. 

Kariri Njama ran for the Kiambaa parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket but lost to UDA’s contestant Njuguna Wanjiku.

Wanjiku clinched the Kiambaa seat by a margin of 510 votes.
