Washington State Giving Free Marijuana to Those Getting Covid-19 Vaccine – LitKenya

Washington State has come up with quite an attractive way to ensure that a majority of its citizens get the Covid-19 vaccination. This is after the state’s liquor and cannabis board on Monday, 7th June, launched the ‘Joints for jabs’, where adults will be allowed to claim free marijuana whenever they get a vaccination shot.

However, this will only be applicable to those aged 21 and above who went to an active vaccine clinic. Some 58 per cent of people in Washington have received at least one dose and 49 per cent are fully vaccinated, according to New York Times database unlike in Kenya, which has vaccinated less than two per cent of its people.

Should the Kenya Government emulate the new idea, too?

Netizens in Washington State seem to be lucky since they were also privileged to have free beer, wine, and liquor as long as they had proof of having been vaccinated. Even so, this is presumed to be because of the decline in the pace of the vaccine in the US, which happened in mid-April.

Other states have followed suit in offering a chance for one to grab an opportunity of being fully scholarships for their college education. Some states have even gone to the extent of awarding cash lotteries worth $1million or more just to motivate their citizens to be vaccinated.
