Allan Makanda, the Bungoma man, who was filmed crying out in Parliament about Mwai Kibaki’s death on Tuesday, April 26, disrupted the late President’s State Funeral at Nyayo National Stadium shortly after President Uhuru Kenyatta finished his speech.
The young man approached the podium where the clergy was and asked for permission to speak to the congregation at Nyayo Stadium.
He requested two minutes to make a few statements when security intervened and whisked him away from Archbishop Anthony Muheria of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri.
For a few minutes, Archbishop Muheria wrapped his arm around him to shelter him from the security assistants.
“He is a Kenyan and a national son. He’s upset about our President’s death. Treat him with respect,” Muheria begged security men.
Makanda stripped and grieved outside Parliament on Tuesday, as the people viewed the body of the former President.
Outside the Parliament buildings, he further garnered attention by stating that Kibaki was his biological grandfather.
“I’ve been living with the idea that I’m Kibaki’s distant grandchild, so please let me see his body.”
“People used to refer to me as ‘Kibaki’ since ince I arrived in Nairobi in 2016,” he said
Makanda further alleged that he has a striking similarity to the late Mwai Kibaki.
